Ophelia

Photography of a model portraying Ophelia.

A really good interpretation of Ophelia's monologue.

Ophelia's monologue is important because it furthers the theme of insanity in this play and also foreshadows her eventual demise as well as Laertes', Hamlet's, the Claudius', and Gertrude's. In this monologue she uses symbolic flowers and gives them to people to symbolize different things. After this monologue she commits suicide Laertes loses it and so does Hamlet which results in the sword fight at the end.
