Wit

Act I, Scene ii

"Hamlet: A little more than kin, and less than kind."

Act III, Scene ii

"Hamlet: It would cost you a groaning to take off my edge"

What is wit?

Keenness and quickness of perception or discernment; ingenuity

Hamlet delivering sexual puns to Ophelia.

There are several puns used in this play. The first quote I used from Hamlet  show him playing with words in order to state a paradox: Claudius is twice related to him, as uncle and stepfather, but not really his kin or kind at all. The second quote is also from Hamlet (who actually gives most of the puns in the play) responding to Ophelia just after she has told him that he is "keen." She meant that he has a sharp wit, but he turns it to sexual innuendo.
